Shared calendar via ActiveSync?  When will it be possible to do this without 3rd party software?

Shared calendar via ActiveSync?  When will it be possible to do this without 3rd party software?

In our Exchange 2007 days we used to be able to view shared calendars via OWA on devices with an Internet Browser by adding the shared calendar primary SMTP address, like this:

https://mail.domain.com/owa/user@domain.com/?cmd=contents&module=calendar but looks like that functionality has been removed.

Any thoughts?

Anyone who knows the future of Microsoft's development plans certainly aren't authorized to share them here, sorry.

Still fighting this issue, today I am challenged with an iPhone user who just wants to view a shared mailbox calendar with their iPhone.  Gmail, easy, done in five seconds.  Exchange, not so much.

Here's what I've learned since my earlier post:

Some devices allow multiple Exchange/ActiveSync profiles to be installed.  This is great for viewing multiple calendars, unless they are shared calendars and have the user objects disabled, they can be manually enabled.  Then you run into the problem of the passwords expiring on accounts other than the users account, which can be manually set to not expire.

You can publish calendars to the Internet using OWA and Calendar Sharing if it is enabled on the Exchange organization, but there is no security to the page, if someone has the correct link to the shared published calendar, they can view the contents.   Does anyone know if authentication can be added to this?  As is, with no security the calendar cannot be displayed with an iPhone, browser not supported, click here for a list of supported browsers.

There are dozens of third party apps that can be installed to view a shared calendar, all of which that I've tested required the login credentials of the mailbox.  Does anyone know of any that do not require the login credentials of the shared mailbox, I'd like to leave the account disabled if possible.

If you have fought this battle and have had any success in other ways, I'd appreciate hearing them.

We have request for this as well.  In 2013 it gets a little better, logon to OWA using mobile browser (since the site very mobile friendly now with 2013), and go to the calendar section.  You can see any calendar you have added to your account.  This is ok, but not a QUICK solution.  Publishing the calendar to the internet with anonymous access has it's issues as you mentioned, but the only quick solution.

So, trying out the new Outlook app for Android/iPhone and see that Calendar and People functionality is there but still no easy access to shared calendars via mobile.

Besides publishing the calendar to the Internet and allowing anonymous access to it, are there any options for viewing a shared calendar on a mobile device.

What we have currently done is enabled the user object and added the shared mailbox account as a second account.  This works great but managing the password for that one account with multiple users devices is painful.
